Keyboard lessons in progress
Yesterday, went for my fourth keyboard lesson
Yes, I took up keyboard on weekly... quite fun actually, considering it was my long time dream to learn the keyboard (as in Yahama keyboard, not the IBM keyboard)
It was due to interest...but other than that, it taught me to become a better teacher.
Many times...in the midst of teaching (esp after many years)..somehow, teachers could be quite impatient at times. I think that was so for my keyboard teacher, who somehow assumed that her students(poor students like me, who already stated at the beginning that I had no formal music background) are really talented, and practised the keyboard faithfully each day, so she kept cramming information after information, before we digested the previous skills. Wow.... i thought i was really stupid in my lesson, not catching totally what she was talking about, until after lesson. It gaves me a sign of relief when all my classmates says the lesson was tough this round. haha... Of course this incident tells me to be very patient with my students as well. For all I know, they may be feeling the same way I had been feeling for the keyboard lesson.
Nevertheless, I am beginning to enjoy the keyboard lessons well.... all those funny chords are really cool! Csus4, Gsus2, minors and majors... a time to be away from my hectic school-based life as well :)
