Mother's Day
Could only blog now... brother was using the comp, but now he is asleep ;)
Saturday: Went PS in the morning, then Tiong for lunch, before going home, got my laptop and then go church for cell. Thanks so much, Wen Min, for coming down and giving us a great sermon on worship. So blessed to have you as our guest speaker! Great reminder that worshipping God is like sustaining a relationship ... if our heart is far from Him, all the singing and declarations of "I love you, Jesus" is just simply lip service. Also, in order to worship Him, we need to know His attributes, that is, He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. Really am blessed by this sister.
In the evening, cell went to Excelsior hotel riverview restaurant for mother's day celebration... happening event...surprised to see one ex-colleague there with his family and his cute 2 yr old daughter. Really so happy to see the eyes of mothers beaming when they receive the flowers. Mothers everywhere, you deserve them!
Sunday: First time went thru mother's day without seeing my mom ... felt really different ... i'm happy that she is now still overseas with my dad and brother, but it's just something missing that i didnt see her today... some youths i knew at disagreements with their moms at times, and I could understand them. My mom used to "control" my movements by giving me curfews, calling up my friends to check on me sometimes, and asking me lots of questions during my pri and sec school days, and I sometimes feel sianz... but I learnt to appreciate mom much more after staying away from home 7 years (2.5 yrs of NS + 4.5 yrs of hostel life) and could see my mom mainly during holidays and weekends. I realize that many things that moms are really acts of love and kindness. Sometimes they are too afraid that we might turn bad or suffer, and thus they may make a big fuss over the smallest thing... but I always wonder ... if I am a parent in future, will I behave in such a manner? Can I myself be a better parent than what my parents really are now? I really doubt so, at least for the time being.
Thus, Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!
