Minister of State for Education Visit

This morning, the Minister of State for Education, RADM (NS) Lui Tuck Yew came to our school for an informal chat with some students with regards to their life, as well as how they felt with regards to some events and policies that the government has made.

Really glad to have sessions such as these. Indeed, Mr Lui has been a very friendly MP personally, very approachable with no airs. Indeed, this the 2nd time I heard him speak in the past 2 months (First time was at 1 Sep Teacher's Day). His answers are really relevant and also set our students to be thinking beyond their studies and school life.

Glad that our students come up with very good questions, which shows that they really ponder before asking the Guest of Honour. Furthermore, they are polite in asking questions. Well done! However, I feel that our students, as well as the young people nowadays, need to brush up with their General Knowledge as well as current affairs. This is indeed true, when at times, there was this awkward silence after the Guest-of-honour askes, "Did you read about the recent event that ...?"

Kudos to the NE Department of MOE as well.

Also, Congratulations to Daniel and Huifen for their marriage. May God bless them greatly.
