CIP for school

Yesterday, went back to school...coz of a CIP (community involvement programme) involving some ppl from NUS, year 2 students from my school, as well as friends from MINDS. The NUS students and year 2 students from my school are supposed to set up stalls like a carnival, as well as bringing friends from MINDS to walk about, and to play...super fun... hope that students from my school will learn to interact and understand better people who are less fortunate than them.

There were some incidents yeaterday that really ask me to think about eduation or values that society has let our young ones to think...

Firstly, I saw some year 1s in my school (even though they are not supposed to be present) grabbing food on the buffet table (that is meant for the year 2s and NUS students as our friends from MINDs were served happy meal instead) even though many of the NUS students as well as the year 2 students had not eaten! i mean, if there is leftover food, by all means go eat them... but shouldnt they be more considerate?

Secondly, all though most of our students were helpful (I'm really glad to see them attempting to interact with friends from MINDS), there is this small group of students who juz bochap everything, sat at one corner just to sms?? This really saddens us, for where is the heart for people among our young ones?

Despite these 2 incidents, I really see that the event is really well organized, and I do sincerely believe that many of our students are able to take home memories from this event. Well done to the organizers.
