Student's Joy, Teacher's Pain

End of exams, joy to students, pain to teachers...

Students just need to sit back, relax, go VIVO and watch more movies, and wait for their scripts...

Teachers, have to mark papers, calculate results, type remarks for students, do script checking and double check for other teachers, present answers during script check, make amendments, type report for the paper marked, and be ready to meet parents.

Anyway, can't stand my table from being messy. finally took one single full day to do sorting filing of all my documents, cleared my desk of rubbish gathered during this semester. wow. today is the day of my greatest achievement... finally did all those...

While packing up my stuff, some colleagues commented, "Wah!! Leaving ah?"

Hmm ... maybe one day, but certainly not in the near future ... haha.... right now I'm generally having fun in this school, thanks to a nice group of colleagues and to my students...

Anyway, the amusing things said by teachers in staff room while we marked our papers can be amusing...

"I can't believe students can make the same mistake after going through similar questions SOOOOO MAAANY times in class ... I really doubt my ability to teach ... "

"The students really need to take a course of logic ... A implies B means B implies A. What the...?"

"It's easy to mark this question... cross and cross and cross and cross ..."

One senior teacher commented,
"Back in universtiy, one lecturer is able to teach well. another lecturer is not able to teach well. Guess whose student is able to teach at all. Guess in the end whose student score better?"
I answered, "The lecturer who can teach?"
The Senior teacher replied, "Wrong! The students of the lecturer who cannot teach"
"Why?"
"The students of the good lecturer understands the teaching well, so they can't be bothered to read their notes. On the other hand, the students of the bad lecturer has nothing else to depend on ohter than their notes, so they read and read and read ...."

Hmmm, make sense right? ... so let me strive to become a bad teacher... haha...
