Valentine's Day Pre Chinese New Year

Have been tired and busy last few days...but nevertheless meaningful and enjoyable.

Tuesday (13/2)
- Busy life: mark papers, taught till 3.30pm..then went to help out pack goodies (2 oranges, 3 boxes of tibits, one ang pow of oranges and one letter) into a bag. 200 bags of goodies in all. Thank so much for the Year 2 PSLs for packing all the way till 5.45pm. Even in the midst of packing, I had to attend some meeting. Really thank my colleagues for helping me out.

Wednesday (14/2)
Happy Valentine's Day. Valentine's day was meant to be sweet and romantic. But in my school, i hardly saw any chocolates and flowers. worst, i have to give one of my class their math test ... haha... thank God they found the test not too difficult (compared to their previous quiz), or else I will feel quite guilty (like real)
After the test, was their innovation programme, where students had to build some tall structure with only straws and masking tape, and the structure had to support a tennis ball at the higest place. As usual, the class that i was in charge of taught of those funny out of the box ideas. Aiyoh..everytime took short cut. In the end, i felt proud when they managed to buid a structure for more than 2 m tall...even it only supported the ball for 10s. But I pray that they would know the value of discipline and fair play, and not to win for the sake of winning.
After the event..it rained, but thank God for 2 kind colleagues, who drove the boxes of goodies to neighbouring blocks of flats, where PSLs and Interact club members distributed among the residents. Very interesting experience, though tiring. Thank God for stopping the rain, as well as keeping us safe and strong from running up and down the floors.

Thursday
- Fire drill at noon time.Students assembled at the school field, but some were so soft as to bring down their umbrellas. Aiyoh!!! Nice fire extinguishing performance by the SCDF people, and somehow dun noe why i found myself part of the demo as well...

Thinking back, for the last 1.5 mths, these are the things I had managed to complete and obtained

1) helped in orientation camp
2) helped in first 2+2 day
3) helped to distribute goodies to neighbours
4) finished teaching ma1105 for 4 classes
5) finished marking 11 x 4 assignments
6) finished marking 3 x 4 quizzes
7) finished marking over 30 journals
8) went to ikea with my students
9) get to know my students better

10) darker eye rings! eeeeek!
