Updates of the Year so far
Wow, time flies. Never had time and energy to do updates..in fact, for 8 days
3 - 6 Jan
Had orientation for school during this while. There were talks, games, food, bonding, school touring, treasure hunt, performance during this 4 days... 8am - 5pm on 3 - 5 Jan and 8am - 8pm on 6 Jan for students. That means longer hours for student leaders and certainly for the teachers working along side with them.
To my student leaders who happen to read this blog (if you happen to come across it)
A VERY BIG THANK YOU!
They have been sacrificing so much of their holidays coming for camps, learning the mass dance, staying back to do the decorations, obtaining resources, buying stuffs, when many of their peers are still out there enjoying their holidays. During the orientation camp, the student leaders have to stay back so late to rehearsal, as well as to ensure that their juniors are properly taken care off as well as enjoying themselves.
Also, for all the students who I have known, WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!
And to the students who I am teaching now (Which happens to be Year 1, fresh out from Primary School) ... WELCOME TO SCHOOL!
There are also new colleagues that I got to know also. My vice-principal, though new, is friendly. I have a new HOD, and my department has a few nice additions.
Haha...Year 1 students, so fun to get to know them. Even their form teachers like them! Though I somehow miss the classes that I had taught and mentored last year, I am glad they have moved on and there are capable teachers taking care of them.
Due to orientation, my life seemed for a moment to be in a mess for a time. Too tired to do anything else. Now, I seem to be suffering from the after effect ... fatigue, as well as working through all the administration that has been shelved due to orientation.
Lastly, I will like wish Steven and Christine a blissful marriage. It's regretably that I couldn't come for their wedding (last Sat), but I am glad they finally tied the knot. :)
