Dear students

Just read a blog entry from a student, who feels that he is weak in math, but feels that teachers favour the better students and dont care about the weaker ones...

Firstly, wanna encourage him that i feel encouraged that he stayed back for help...in fact he stayed back for around 45 min...tt is good...

However, wanna clarify to him, as well as students generally, why some students may think teachers favour good students...

As teachers, it is our responsibility that the whole class, not just one individual, got to learn... that means to say, to be fair, each student would have a fair share of our time slots... If I have one hour to spare, and 30 students to teach, this means that each student should have 2 minutes worth of attention.

The better students might understand a difficult concept using the 2 min...where as a weaker student might take more time to understand the same concept... I cannot use time for other students to give to the weaker students ... coz it will be unfair to the others that I'm teaching... As teachers, I have to be answerable to ALL my students, and to their parents who entrusted us with their care...

However, I do sincerely thank my students who choose to approach me after school... I'm just a normal human being with limited strength ... I do hope that you can do some practice on your own and ask questions that you find it difficult... that way, I will be more effective in answering your questions and helping you.

All the best for your math exams!

Yours Sincerely,
