Interesting math problem

In the figure above, BEDC is a parallelogram, ABC, CGE, AFGD and BFE are straight lines, AF = 10 cm, FG = 8 cm, and GD = x cm.
(a) Find x.
(b) Find BE/FE
For my students who are revising math for their mid year...this is an interesting math problem that I come across. For the first student who can solve it correctly and post the answers on the answer on my blog, I will reward him/her with a little token when I see him/her in school on Tuesday. Gambette!
