Tired Saturday and Farewell Jeremy
Have you ever came to school on a Saturday morning at 8 am, then realizing that you were the only teacher around? yup...felt that way yesterday. Of coz did see another colleague, but she only came to get some stuffs, and 5 minutes later, left.
I'm not that workaholic in going to school on Sat 8 am either.... came just to adminster some test to a group of students with seemingly no common time slot on weekdays.
Well, at least adminstered and marked the test, as well as finished a pile of quizzes to mark during that time slot.
Quite fortunate too. When I felt hungry at 11 am, another colleague brought up some fried mee and siew mai, claiming that they were the leftovers from some parents workshop at the theatrette.
Didn't really matter. The food wasn't stolen, it was good, and I was hungry.
Next, tried to did some work till one. saw a few more colleagues that came. Our school is really blessed with many teachers who are dedicated and professional in the line of work.
At one, went to the Library. Dropped some books. Gee... dead due on monday. If i didn't go there, time to pay the fine. After that, rushed to West Coast park to meet up some students. They mentioned to meet up at 2pm with the teachers for some last minute final recce the park for some student-initiated event.
Their way of doing things was....
"Meet up at 2 pm" = "Meet up and eat mac at 2 pm then recce at 3 pm"
Okay. 'Efficient'. Though as a teacher, my time isn't flexible, not that I had to skip cell for that.
Nevertheless, I'm glad the students had lots of initiative, and really planned hard and well for the event. Each person in the comm would have spend tens of hours from initial planning to execution of the event. Hope the school student body appreciates it.
Well. Went to cell group after that. At least enough time to join in their discussions. Went for dinner, before going to bedok reservoir for some light exercises. Need to create a habit next time... after hearty meal...must walk instead of sleep if I do not want to become a fat pig in the long run.
Night time, went to Changi Airport to sent my church friend, Jeremy off. Really missed him. Knew him for almost 20 years (yeah...that's around his age, since I was in primary school when he was borned) FLying to UK for 5 yrs. Studied medicine. So next time, would have called him Dr Jeremy. Didn't matter. I would have my constant source of MCs next time whenever I dreaded coming to school (opps....nay...just joking. School is fun!)
Anyway, thanks to the wonders of msn, still could remain in contact.
Funny thing about the airport. Thought since school started, there shouldn't be any people around. Met my former nus lecturer, my former nus tutor, my former colleague, and also a present student, at the airport.
