Session with Neil Humpfreys

Today, Neil Humpfreys came to my school to give an one hour talk during assembly.

Yeah..the man who wrote "Scribbles from the same island", journalist ang moh who is super funny.... really gives us some wonderful perspectives too....

Does Singaporeans need Singlish??

Yes we do!! It is the only thing that binds us!!!!! Speak Proper english to the taxi driver...to the hawker food seller...to the market butcher...do they understand you?

But of coz we do need Standard English... in offices, in newspaper..when going overseas! And it is important that we are able to switch between Singlish and English effectively...

But the point...we do need Singlish!! Singlish is here to stay...

Is it true that We can be qualified to laugh at others only when we are able to laugh at ourselves?
